Our New Beginnings
2 Corinthians 5:18-19
Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation, namely that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their wrongdoings against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation
On Saturday 9th November 2024 The Hockley Tree of Life was born. A passionate Christian brother called Stephen Jephthah had an idea to start a new evangelism team in Hockley, Nottingham, closely working alongside brother John Brooks. After 4 weeks Stephen with John handed over full responsibilities to Denzil Golding to lead the group to present date. By the grace of God, David Bramwell found and named the location, 'Tree of Life'. Later into our journey the name changed to 'The Hockley Tree of Life' Denzil Golding, Ash Lambley, Teresa Jeffers, Dino, Kelise, Pastor Johnny, Cynthia, Mary, Eldeen, Kezia, Donald, Yvonne, Jesubon, Eliphaz and Samson supported this movement in the new beginnings whilst feeding the homeless and Spiritually, praying for the broken hearted. Today, The Hockley Tree of Life has steadily grown within resistance from some locals. The Tree of Life visitors now includes Freddy, Hollie, Chris, Courtney, Chris S, Alister, Nathan, Dean, Mark, Ryan, Chester, Alex, Samuel, Olumide, Joseph, Roseline, Alysha, and many more. Our focus is to preach The Goodnews praying for people to know the LORD and bear fruit. We continue to pray weekly together for The Lord to open doors and for divine opportunities to share our testimonies. We consistently serve the Homeless with food bags, toiletries, water, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, soups, clothes, gloves, hats, scarfs, NIV bibles and local advice. We have a general chat with the public especially, those that are isolated. We have recently provided dog food and water for the homeless pets. We have witnessed fantastic progress so far. Local Statistics show that in 2025 there were 765 homeless people in Nottingham either in supported accommodation or on the streets including families. 1 Peter 4:8-11 and Proverbs 3:9-10
