IN THE BEGINNING

Genesis, the truth about God.

Genesis, the truth about Ourselves.

Genesis, the truth about the World.

Genesis, gives us the bigger picture that effects how we view God and revealing;

H-I-S-T-O-R-Y

In the beginning God created the Heavens and the Earth. God made everything good in the beginning. Mankind had been given the position of a caretaker to look after all what God had made. God commanded mankind to be fruitful and multiply on earth.

Genesis is the first book of the bible and shows God’s revelation to mankind, without Genesis we wouldn’t understand mankind's current relationship with God and our need to be saved from our sins.

The next big thing I’m going to say is not about favouritism or special treatment because THE LORD is sovereign. God can have mercy on whoever He choses. Read these scriptures below;

1 Chronicles 16:13, You descendants of Israel His servant, Sons of Jacob, His chosen ones!

1 Chronicles 16:16 -18, The covenant which He made with Abraham, and His oath to Isaac. He also confirmed it to Jacob as a statute, To Israel as an everlasting covenant, Saying "To you I will give the land of Canaan, as the portion of your inheritance."

Deuteronomy 32:10, He found him in a desert land, And in the howling wasteland of a wilderness, He encircled him, He cared for him, He guarded him as the apple of His eye.

Exodus 33:18-22,  Then Moses said, "please, show me Your glory!" And He said "I Myself will make all My goodness pass before you, and will proclaim the name of the LORD before you; and I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious and will show compassion to whom I will show compassion."

Isaiah 54:10, "For the mountains may be removed and the hills may shake, But My favour will not be removed from you Nor will My covenant of peace be shaken," Says the LORD who has compassion on you.

"I need to balance the above scriptures due to some readers could think that I'm biased;"

Galatians 3:28-29, There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's descendants, heirs according to promise.

Colossians 3:9-11, Do not lie to one another, since you stripped off the old self with its evil practices, and have put on the new self, which is being renewed to a true knowledge according to the image of the One who created it -a renewal in which there is no distinction between Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave and free, but Christ is all, and in all

Israel is regarded as God’s chosen people. God’s ultimate plan, to use Israel to bless all nations of the whole world. Israel were waiting for their Messiah to come and He came to save and to serve, Mark 10:45. The LORD and Saviour Jesus Christ will come again, read Psalm 96:13. Thankyou Lord!

Genesis divided into TWO PARTS

PART ONE: Chapters 1 to 11, you can say; (primeval history), (origin), (beginning of things) or (first age). God tells us about how everything started on a universal level. How mankind became separated from God and how sin corrupted all of God’s creation.

PART TWO: Chapters 12 to 50,(history of the patriarchs) Abraham, Isaac, Jacob also known as Israel who had 12 sons, The Twelve Tribes of Israel, Genesis 35:21-22. Josephreceived double portion of blessings.

Key Headings from Genesis

Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden; Genesis 3

Murder of Abel by brother Cain; Genesis 4

Noah’s Ark (the world came so corrupt God had to judge it; Genesis 6

Tower of Babel (the different nations and languages); Genesis 11

God’s plan from the beginning was to use one nation to reveal his plan of redemption to the rest of the world.

He revealed His plan of redemption to the jews through what we refer to as The Old Testament.

Genesis 12:3 goes from universal to a specific group of people Israel, to bring salvation to the entire world.

Genesis 12:1-3, Through Abraham’s family line, God’s plan of redemption (saving grace) is going to come to all the world i.e. through Jesus Christ the Son of God.

Yes, Jesus Christ was born a Jew.

The story continues into The New Testament, Jesus Christ, The Son of God who died for our sins on the cross so that all mankind can be forgiven of their sins coming out of darkness to the light.

Jesus resurrected on the third day so that mankind can be reconciled (right relationship) to God and have eternal life, but we must have faith in Jesus Christ, His finished work on the cross and accept His free gift called GRACE.

Jesus Christ is always present even before The Old Testament. You can even say at the beginning of time, Revelation 1:17-18. God is always on time! His time.
